Salute to outgoing Councilors Clark, Donnelly & Kaddy

At Tuesday's Council Meeting we honored outgoing councilors Clark (absent) Kaddy and Donnelly with clapping and speeches and special proclamations ---and this spiffy group photo =) Combined they had 40+ years of service and experience to the city; Clark serving '06-'20, Donnelly '00- '08 and '16-'20, and Kaddy serving '04-'20. Thanks to them for their service to our city

Tonight's City Council Mtg Highlights:
👮‍♂️4 new Permanent Reserve Police Officers confirmed
👩‍🚒 Chief Roy of Fitchburg Fire Home Rule Petition approved to send to State for extending his Chief position through June 30, 2020.
⛰ $12k grant approved for Rock Walk trail
🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️ Rail Trail Fitchburg Awards for temp easements and 1 permanent easement at Fitchburg Green
⛰ Jewell Hill Cons Restriction for Watershed with the Trustees approved... $40k cost to Fitchburg for 138 acres
✈ Approved the Runway Expansion final loan order ($768k total contribution from Fitchburg of $15.4M total)

Starting with the Council Appointment of 4 new Permanent Reserve Police Officers for the FPD!
👮‍♂️Brian W. Gelinas- 2013 Graduate of St Bernard's, FSU Criminal Justice Program and is a current Dispatcher
👮‍♂️Colin T. Banahan - 2008 Oakmont Graduate, UMass Criminal Justice Program, current dispatcher in Westminster
👮‍♂️Timothy W. Harden - 2013 Monty Tech Graduate, Criminal Justice Program, is a current FPD Dispatcher
👮‍♂️Daniel G. Adorn - From Walpole, lives in Malden, 2016 FSU Grad, past intern at FPD, plans on moving closer to Fitchburg

April 3rd 2018 City Council Agenda. 
A lot of action this meeting...among them:
-(4) Firefighter promotions
-Adoption of Dog Park Grant ($201k grant + $23k donation)
-Marijuana/Cannabis Zoning Proposals from the Planning Board
-Contract agreement adjustment for DPW; increase pay rates, adjust details of contract
-Amendment to sale of BF Brown with NewVue Communities from 2015, including transferring the $1.6M insurance settlement 
-Additional $65k to Senior Center for Air Quality ($65k allocated in May 2017)
-Allow Seasonal Outdoor dining in Industrial/Light industrial Districts
